Gaier, LaVerne (1 March 1921 - 9 March 2009) With Flag

LaVerne C. Gaier, 88, passed away March 9, 2009, in Pensacola, FL.

Vern was born March 1, 1921, to the late Regina and Charles Gaier.

Following his years of service in World War II, Vern owned Gaier Hatchery in Neillsville. He moved to Ohio in 1954, working for Jamesway Corporation. Vern returned to Neillsville in 1967, purchasing Club 10 and creating Bali Hai Supper Club, which he owned until 1976. He moved to Florida in 1980 and spent the last phase of his career as the real estate broker/owner of Pine Forest Realty and 100% Realty in Pensacola, FL. Vern’s favorite hobby was flying.

Vern is survived by his daughters, Sharon Gaier and Donna Frusher; his son Robert Gaier; grandchildren, Todd Jones, Bethany Jones, Frederick Frusher and Malea (James) Martin; great-grandchildren, Emma Martin and Tyler Martin; brothers, Jerome (Delores) Gaier, Gerald (Betty) Gaier and Harold (Alice) Gaier; and many nieces and nephews.

Vern was preceded in death by both parents and his sister, Charlotte Hake.

A Memorial Service will be held for LaVerne Gaier at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at the Gesche Funeral Home, 4 S Grand Ave. Neillsville. Fr. Woodrow H. Pace will guide the service with interment and military honors following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Neillsville.
