Melzer, Theresa Alma (19 April 1945 - 22 November 2013)
Theresa Melzer, 68, of Neillsville, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, in the
emergency room of the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.
Theresa
Alma Doll was born April 19, 1945, in Hartford, WI, the daughter of Herman and
Anna (Engeliter) Doll. She attended and graduated from Slinger High School in
1963 and later was united in marriage to Joseph F. Melzer in St. Lawrence, WI.
After they were married, they built a home near St. Kilian, WI. The adopted two
children, and Theresa stayed at home to raise her family. After the children
grew older, she took a job as a financial analyst for Primerica Financial
Services. She retired in 1997 due to her health. In 2006, they moved to Loyal,
while Lon Knoll was building their new home in Neillsville. They moved into
their new home in May of 2007. Theresa and Joe are members of St. Mary’s
Catholic Church in Neillsville.
Theresa is survived by her husband, Joe;
two children Jason (Dana) Melzer of Allenton, WI, and Nadine (Fred) Tetzlaff of
la Crosse; three grandchildren, Emma and Jake Melzer and Fredrick Tetzlaff; four
siblings: Armella (Wayne) Dolger of Big Flat, WI, Leroy (Veronica) Doll of
Hartford, Mary Ann Schaefer of Oakfield, WI, and Ginny (Stan) Griesmer of
Franklin, WI; and two sisters-in-law, Carol Doll of Germantown and Julia Doll of
Natchitoches, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson,
Fredrick; a sister, Dorothy; three brothers, Herman, Eugene and Leander; a
sister-in-law, Betty Doll; and two brothers-in-law, Albert Muckerheide and
Granny Zweig.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Theresa was held at 11
a.m. with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at St.
Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. The celebrant was Rev. Charles Hiebl.
Music was provided by Ronald Resong, organist, and St. Mary’s Choir. Interment
was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
