Kaszubowski, Stanley Adam (13 December 1915 - 8 November 2013)

Stanley A. Kaszubowski, age 97, of Thorp, passed away on
Friday, November 8, 2013, at Oakbrook Health & Rehab in Thorp. Funeral services
will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Polish
National Catholic Church in Lublin. Rev. Marion Talaga will officiate and burial
will follow in the parish cemetery with military rites conducted by Thorp
American Legion Post #118. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 30,
2013, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Stanley Adam
Kaszubowski was born on December 13, 1915, in the Town of Taft, rural Thorp, to
Aleck and Irene (Cyrvinowska) Kaszubowski. He was raised on the family farm and
received his education at area schools. After completing his education, Stanley
worked in the CCC Camps for four years before moving to Chicago to find work. He
was then united in marriage to Sophie Depa on November 30, 1940. Stanley
enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on August 7, 1945, and served until
his honorable discharge on July 29, 19456. In 1947, Stanley and Sophie moved
back to the Town of Taft and took over the family farm and operated it until
1974. They then moved to Eau Claire where Stanley worked for Ed Phillips & Sons.
In 1994, they moved to the city of Thorp where he resided until his death.
Stanley had many interests but especially enjoyed deer hunting. He was a
member of St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church, where he served as parish
council president for over 20 years, was Chairman for the Town of Taft for 17
years, and also served on the Taylor County Board of Supervisors as Vice
Chairman for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Sophie Kaszubowski,
of Thorp; three children: Delores (George) Kliminski of Bluffton, SC, Larry
(Rhonda) Kaszubowski of Stanley, and Sandra (Jeffrey) Hutchens of Rice Lake;
seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren
(with another one due in January); one sister, Irene (Buster) Heinle, of Jim
Falls; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Stanley was
preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren: Chet and Alex Kaszubowski,
both in infancy; his daughter-in-law, Katherine Kaszubowski; his son-in-law,
Steven Meindel; five brothers: Alex, Ted, Chester, Victor, and Adam in infancy;
and by one sister, Mary in infancy.
In lieu of flowers, the family
requests memorials to be directed to St. Mary’s PNCC Ladies’ Society, N1253 West
Street, Lublin, WI 54447.
