Emerson, Floriene A. (9 JUL 1916 - 2 APR 1953)
Miss Floriene A. Emerson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Emerson of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away suddenly Thursday morning at her home in Eau Claire.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Hogseth-Pederson Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls, with Rev. Gurner W. Finch of the First Methodist Church officiating. Eastern Star services were conducted in the funeral chapel by the Stanley Chapter No. 138 O.E.C., with Mrs. K. E. Lindquist, Worthy Matron, and K. E. Lindquist, Worthy Patron. During the services Mrs. Duane W. Gingras, who is a cousin of Miss Florien Emerson, sang three songs, "Some Day He’ll Make It Plain" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere:. For the Eastern Star service she sang "Nearer, My God to Thee," with organ accompaniment by Mrs. Lawrence Vincent.
The following acted as pallbearers: Victor Bartz, Joel Redlin of Eau Claire, Clayborne Bogumill of Thorp, Wilfred Emerson, Emil Ferguson and Jack Perks of Chippewa Falls.
Interment was made in the family lot in Forest Hill Cemetery at Chippewa Falls.
Miss Emerson was born July 9, 1916, in Chippewa Falls and was graduated from the Chippewa Falls High School in 1934. She then came to Thorp and made her home with her parents. Miss Emerson was employed with C. C. Guell, attorney of Thorp, for two years, then with Mr. Rahn and Mr. Mills as clerk in the county courthouse at Neillsville for one year. In 1938 she moved to Eau Claire where she was employed for five years with the Guaranty Security Co. Since 1943, Miss Emerson was employed with the U. S. Soil Conservation Department in Eau Claire.
She was a member of the Stanley Chapter No. 138 of the Eastern Star.
Miss Emerson is survived by her parents, several aunts and uncles.
