Lato, Caroline E. (18 MAY 1953)
Miss Caroline E. Lato, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Lato of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), exchanged marriage vows with Gordon W. Frantz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Frantz of Neillsville, on Monday morning, May 18, 1953. The nuptial mass was said by Rev. Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Church in Thorp at 10 o’clock. Bouquets of hydrangeas and roses decorated the altar.
The bride was escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a white satin gown, entrain fashioned with a V shape face bodice and yoke. A cap studded with pearls held her fingertip lace edged veil and she carried one deep pink orchid surrounded with white roses.
Miss Irene Lato was her sister’s maid of honor, and wore a yellow taffeta gown with double net skirt. Miss Cordula Frantz, Neillsville, as first bridesmaid, was attired in a pink taffeta gown with double net skirt and Miss Amy Grabowski, Minneapolis, second bridesmaid, had an aqua taffeta with similar skirt. The bridal aides all wore picture hats of net with taffeta ribbons to match their gowns. Yellow roses with pink and lavender sweet peas composed their bouquets.
Michael Inzeo, Waukesha, attended the bridegroom as best man and Patrick McIntyre, Neillsville, was groomsman. The bridegroom and his attendants wore double breasted black tuxedoes, the former having a white tie and the latter black ties. Each wore a carnation boutonniere.
The mother of the bride selected a pink nylon dress with a red rose and white carnation corsage for her daughter’s wedding. The mother of the bridegroom pinned a similar corsage of her pink print dress.
A dinner was served at 12 o’clock, followed by a reception at St. Hedwig’s hall for 300 guests. Kodl’s Orchestra of Thorp furnished music for dancing in the evening.
The bride was wearing a blue-grey gabardine suit when the couple left on a wedding trip to southern Wisconsin and Iowa. They will reside at 202 Court St., Neillsville.
Both are graduate of the Neillsville High School. The bridegroom attended Stevens Point State College and the University of Wisconsin and has been employed at the Neillsville Bank for the past three years.
