High, Jonathan H. (4 December 1991 - 22 May 2009)
Jonathan H. High, 17, of Christie, died at his home Friday, May 22, 2009.
Jonathan H. High was born Dec. 4, 1991, in Loysville, Pa, the son of Stephen W. and Amelia O. (Hoover) High. He was raised in Pennsylvania until the age of 12, at which time his family moved to a farm in Christie.
Jonathan loved playing with his little brothers and sisters, spending time with his friends, reading, singing and doing electrical work.
He will be dearly missed by his parents, Stephen and Amelia High, and his siblings, Dorcas, Miriam, Raymond, Rachel, Rebecca, Timothy, David, James, Amanda, Stephen Wayne and Marian, all of Christie; his maternal grandparents, Raymond H. and Ruth W. Hoover of Lititz, PA; his paternal grandfather, Leon M. High and his wife, Katie, of Robesonia, PA; his maternal great-grandparents, Ivan and Lydia Hoover of Lititz, PA, and John Oberholtzer of Richland, PA; his paternal great-grandmother, Mary Weaver of New Holland, PA; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Marian High; his paternal great-grandparents, Melvin and Verna High and Ammon Weaver; and his maternal great-grandmother, Esther Oberholtzer.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at the Pine Grove Mennonite Church in Granton. Clair Horst will officiate with the assistance of Paul Wesley Oberholtzer, Ervin Showalter and Willard Brubacker. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lavon Zimmerman, Randel Zimmerman, Mervin High, Lamar Hoover, Jeremy Oberholtzer and Calvin Martin. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 26, at the Stephen High residence (N6275 STH 73) in Christie from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

TEENAGER DIES IN FARM ACCIDENT:
A 17 year-old Neillsville boy was killed in a farm accident in Christie after suffering a fall at his parents’ farm Friday, May 22.
Jonathon High, 17, was repairing a silo unloader in a silo at his parents’ farm in the Town of Weston Friday evening when a cable broke, causing High to fall approximately 80 feet.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call at 7:26 p.m. Friday evening and responded to the incident, along with the Neillsville Fire Department, Neillsville Ambulance Service and the Spirit of Marshfield air medical transportation service.
Clark County Coroner, Richard Schleifer pronounced High dead at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Department will continue to investigate the incident.
