James Harvey Dassow, 75, Silver Springs Lake,
died on Monday, Dec. 2 at his home.
Funeral services will be held on
Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. at Max A. Sass and Sons Funeral Home in Muskego. He
cremated remains will be interred at Rural Home Cemetery in Big Bend.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ruminski Funeral
Home in Redgranite, and on Saturday at Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral Home from 11
a.m. to 1 p.m.

James Harvey Dassow, age 75 of Silver
Springs Lake, rural Neshkoro, formerly of Muskego, passed away peacefully
Monday, December 2, 2013 at his home surrounded by the love of his family.
Jim was able to share his final days with all his loving family. Jim was
born December 11, 1937, in the Town of Goodrich, Wisconsin, a son of Ervin and
Lena (Kretschmer) Dassow.
He attended the Goodrich Grade School and
Medford High School. He married Rose Marie Schaefer on May 17, 1958 in Medford.
Rose Marie, his wife of 55 years survives. Jim had been employed as an
Operating Engineer at Stoehr Grading, New Berlin Grading, and Sunny Slope
Grading, all in the Milwaukee area. He had lived in Muskego for 45 years until
moving to his home in rural Neshkoro in 2004.
He enjoyed traveling,
camping, fishing, and going to the casinos. He is a member of Operating
Engineers Local #139 of Pewaukee.
Survivors include his wife, Rose; 2
sons, Michael (Judy Peters) Dassow of Muskego, and Thomas John (Cheryl) Dassow
of Nashotah, WI, and a daughter, Jean Birlingmair of Elkhorn; 6 grandchildren,
and 3 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Donald (Louise) Dassow of Big Bend, Gary
(Sharon) Dassow of Ocala, FL, and Jerry "Butch" (Mary) Dassow of Tomahawk, WI; 3
sisters, Janice (Dale) Breckenfeld of Deltona, FL, Carol (Robert) Hanke of Eau
Claire, and Diane (Rick) Hempel of Marshfield. Jim is also survived by 2
sisters-in-law, Judith and Agnes Dassow, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law,
nieces, nephews, other relatives, and good friends.
Jim was preceded in
death by his parents, 3 brothers, Ervin, Jr., Glendon, and Robert Dassow.
