Hardrath, Grace (5 MAY 1945)

Before an altar decorated with ferns, flowers and candelabra, Miss Grace Hardrath, daughter of Mrs. William Hardrath of Manitowoc, became the bride of Arnold B. Hetland, son of Mrs. Andrew Hetland of Chicago, in a nuptial ceremony read at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 5, by the Rev. T. F. Uetzman at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran church in Manitowoc.

The bride was given in marriage by an uncle, George Kluenker Sr., wore a dress styled in a slipper satin waist, with a chiffon skirt over satin and net, and extending into a train. It had a high neckline with a chiffon yoke, edged with seed pearls. The long sleeves came to points over the hands. Her veil was fingertip in length and fell from a Juliet cap of satin and net. She carried an all-white colonial bouquet of roses and sweet peas.

Ellen and Caroline Hardrath, sisters of the bride, were maid of honor and bridesmaid, respectively. They wore identical gowns, made with white lace tops and net skirts over taffeta, with sweetheart necklines. Tiny bows of taffeta trimmed the skirts. They wore pearls which were the gifts of the bride. Both girls carried colonial bouquets of mixed flowers and wore nosegays in the hair.

The best man was Stanley Peckron, a friend of the groom. The ushers were George Hardrath and Roy Kluenker, cousins of the bride.

Miss Frances Bailey, friend of the bride sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and "Entreat Me Not to Leave Thee" and accompanied at the organ by Victor Albrecht.

Mothers of the bride and groom wore dark dresses, with matching accessories. They had corsages of mixed flowers.

Following the service, dinner was served to the immediate families at Hessels in Frances Creek. A reception was held there at 8 p.m. for 100 guests.

Mrs. Hetland attended schools at Loyal and Stevens Point and taught in Clark county for a number of years. She also was employed by Sears-Roebuck and Co. in Chicago and Manitowoc. Mr. Hetland attended school in Chicago and is now employed at the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co.

The couple will be at home after May 15 at 2218 North California avenue, Chicago.

The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
