Miss Adeline Goetsch, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. M. C, Goetsch of Colby, and The Rev. Lloyd Lambert, son of Emma Lambert of the town of Sherman, were married at a 7:30 candlelight service at St. Paul’s Lutheran church in the town of Green Grove on Wednesday, July 11. The bride’s father performed the ceremony before an altar decorated with seven branch candelabra and baskets of garden flowers.

Miss Mildred Thompson of Curtiss, organist, who played the wedding marches and other selections before the services, also accompanied Norman Erickson of Owen, who sang "Be Thou Our Guide" and "The Lords Prayer."

The bride was given in marriage by her cousin, Arthur Mueller, of Wausau, was attired in a gown of ivory faille taffeta, fashioned with fitted bodice, long sleeves ending in ruffles at the wrist, and a full skirt extending into a graceful train. She wore a gold chain and cross, a gift of the groom. The sweetheart neckline of her dress was edged with seed pearls, and her three quarter length veil of illusion was gathered to a Juliet cap of seed pearls and ivory lace, styled in a heart design. She carried Johanna Hill roses.

Miss Lyola Lambert of Racine, sister of the groom, as maid of honor, and Miss Myrtle Hoff of Curtiss and Miss Lorraine Schultz of Elkhorn, as bridesmaids, wore gowns similar in style to the one worn by the bride. Miss Lambert’s gown was of blue marquisette, and the bridesmaids wore yellow. All attendants wore gold cross necklaces and carried colonial bouquets of yellow roses, feverfew and blue larkspur.

Little Ann Mueller of Wausau was her cousin’s flower girl, and she wore an ivory crepe dress made with a sweetheart neckline edged with perky ruffles, a fitted bodice and full gathered skirt. Her cap was of net and sequins, and she carried a miniature bouquet of Johanna Hill roses.

The groom was attended by S/Sgt. Harold W. Goetsch, a brother of the bride, and the Rev. Emil Toepel of Cataract and Sgt. Victor Poulsen of Pyote, Tex, were ushers.

Covers for 30 persons were laid for the 5:30 dinner, served in the church parlors, which were decorated with blue, yellow and white streamers. At the reception which followed, 160 guests were present.

The bride, a graduate of the Colby high school and Central State Teachers college at Stevens Point, has taught English and Latin at the high schools in Dorchester, Elkhorn and Owen for the past seven years. The groom graduated from Northwestern college at Watertown and the Lutheran seminary at Thiensville and is pastor of Salem’s Lutheran church at Veefkind.

Following a wedding trip to northern and eastern Wisconsin, the couple is now at home at the Veefkind Lutheran parsonage.
