Fitzl, Donna J. (18 AUG 1953)

A pretty wedding took place at St. Hedwig’s Church at 10 o’clock Tuesday morning, Aug. 18th, 1953 when Rev. F. Piekarski joined in holy wedlock, Conrad Paul Harycki, son of Mrs. Victoria Harycki, Rte. 2, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Miss Donna Jean Fitzl, daughter of Edward Fitzl of Stanley.

Attending the couple in the double ring ceremony were Edmund Harycki, the groom’s brother of Milwaukee, and Charleen Cooney of Stanley, and Vernon Harycki, the groom’s brother, and Maureen Lablanc of Stanley.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired ina gown of French lace over satin with fitted strapless bodice and a short shrug lace jacket with long sleeves. Small colored buttons extended from the neck to bust line and an insert panel of lace appeared through the center of the nylon tulle skirt, which had a pleated flounce at the hemline, and was waltz length. A fingertip veil was held in place with rhinestones and pearl trim. She carried a bouquet of red and white roses.

The bridesmaids wore dresses of blue and salmon, fashioned alike in net over taffeta, and carried bouquets of pink gladioli.

Shirley Olejniczak, niece of the groom, was flower girl and wore a yellow taffeta dress. She carried a basket of pink rose buds.

The groom’s mother was attired in sheer blue and the bride’s mother wore a navy blue dress. Both wore corsages of red and white roses.

The wedding breakfast and reception was held at St. Hedwig’s Hall which was decorated for the occasion. A four-tier wedding cake served as centerpiece at the bride and groom’s table. A dance was given at the hall in the evening.
