Murphy, Alice (23 Oct. 1875 - 28 Dec. 1947)
Miss Alice Murphy, 72, of Marshfield, Wisconsin, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, where she had been a patient since Dec. 22.
The body lay in state at the Rembs Funeral Home until the time of the funeral services, Tuesday morning at 9:00 o’clock at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. The Rev. Edmund Cramer officiated at the Requiem High Mass and burial was made in Hillside cemetery.
Miss Murphy was born Oct. 23, 1875, at Elroy, and lived there until 1920 when she came to Abbotsford and was housekeeper for the Frank Terrio family until 1941 when she went to Marshfield to live with her sister, Mrs. J. J. Collins.
Miss Murphy was an active member of St. Bernard’s congregation while in Abbotsford and while her health permitted. The past few years she has been in poor health.
Surviving are a brother, Tom Murphy, Elroy, and two sisters, Mrs. T. J. Riley, Mauston, and Mrs. J. J. Collins, Marshfield. A brother and four sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Lloyd Olson and her sister, Miss Ann Terrio, who is here from Madison, attended the funeral.
