Shortville

Shortville will celebrate the Fourth of July at the picnic grounds in Tom Winter's grove. Everybody come.

Mrs. Jas. Carter entertained the Ladies' Aid Society Thursday with a large attendance.

Strawberries are ripening nicely--they are not bad to take with cream and sugar added.

There will be preaching in the church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock.

Ida Carter and Belle Irish were visiting with Ida Short Tuesday.

They are getting signers to start a Good Templars Lodge here.

Willie Stevens from Granton is moving onto his farm here.

Mr. Higgins brother of Milwaukee is visiting with him.

Rose Poff has returned to her school duties at La Crosse.

Mrs. Poff has so far recovered as to be able to ride out.

Sammie Stevens is helping his brother, Will dig a well.

Eric Nelson and wife have a three pound baby girl.

Eddie Short is home from his work in Duluth.

G. Nelson is building a new barn.

Grank Short has a wheel.
