Schultz, Gerhardt #2 (20 APR 1929 - 26 SEP 1953)
One man was killed and another injured Friday afternoon when the cars they were driving collided at an intersection in the Town of Eaton (Clark Co., Wis.).
Gerhardt Schultz, 24, of Willard, was killed instantly and Oden Wang of Neillsville is hospitalized at the Neillsville Hospital. Wang received a broken arm and possible internal injuries as a result of the accident.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. Friday on CTH O three miles west and one mile north of Easton School. Schultz was driving west in a 1953 Dodge and Wang was driving north in a 1950 Dodge at the time of the accident. There were no witnesses to the accident, but employees from the Clover Leaf Cheese Factory heard the crash and ran to the scene of the accident. They called the ambulance and police, and Undersheriff Ray Kutchie arrived a few minutes later.
Both cars were damaged considerably but no estimate of damages has been made as yet. County Coroner John Bergemann stated he was not sure whether or not an inquest would be held.
Mr. Schultz, who was employed at the Town of Eaton Cheese Factory, is survived by his wife and three small children, two girls and a boy. Wang is employed as a real estate dealer in Neillsville.
