Conrad, Verna (Marriage - 7 Feb. 1948)
A wedding of interest here is that of Phillip Peterson, who was born and raised in this community. An account follows:
With the Rev. E. E. Schieler officiating, the marriage of Miss Verna Conrad, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gust Conrad, Ripon, Route 2, and Phillip Peterson, of Abbotsford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Peterson, was solemnized in the parsonage of the First Evangelical Lutheran church at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7.
The attendants at the ceremony were Miss Elizabeth Conrad, of Chicago, the bride’s sister, and Vernon Peterson, Neillsville, brother of the groom.
The bride was attired in a suit of blue, with black accessories and wore a corsage of red roses. Her maid of honor wore a gray suit and her corsage was of yellow roses.
Forty guests attended a dinner at the home of the parents after the ceremony. Following a trip in northern Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Peterson will live in Ripon where the former is employed at the plant of the Barlow-Seelig company and the latter at Johnson Creek Egg company.
Guests from Chicago, Berlin, Brandon, Milwaukee, Abbotsford and Neillsville were present at the wedding.
