Schefsick, John (3 Apr. 1882 - 20 Mar. 1948)

A requiem high mass for John Schefsick, 66, who died of a heart ailment Saturday afternoon, was sung Tuesday morning at 9:30 at St. Bernard’s Catholic church, by the Rev. Francis Brockman. Internment was made in the Dorchester cemetery.

The pallbearers were Ervin Bitter, William Bogaard, Charles Boyer, Walter Jackson, Herman Johnson and R. G. Loos.

The flowers were in charge of Miss Laura Olson, and Mmes. Ed Heinberger, August Weideman and R. G. Loos.

John Schefsick, was born April 3, 1882, in the town of Holton on a farm. Here he lived almost his entire life, until his retirement about ten years ago, when he moved to Abbotsford, Wis.

In July, 1917, he was married to Amanda Gutwasser, of Dorchester, Wisconsin, who preceded him in death in 1941.

Mr. Schefsick had been in poor health since last fall and seriously ill at his home the last two and one-half weeks. Death came there at 1:55 on Saturday afternoon.

He is survived by three brothers, Frank and Joseph, Chippewa Falls, and Elmer, of Los Angeles, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. Peter Beyerl, Colby, Wis.

Among the relatives and friends from away who attended the funeral were Frank and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schefsick, Mrs. Robert Gutwasser, and Leonard Gutwasser, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Beyerl and son, Peter John, Colby; Miss Lorraine Schefsick, Chicago; Mrs. Henry Semared and Ferdinand Erdman, Milwaukee; Waltimer Hahn, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. William Kuel, Marshfield; and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gelhaus, of Medford.
