Anderson, Mary Clara (16 Oct. 1881 - 30 Mar. 1948)

Funeral services for Mrs. Martin Anderson, who died unexpectedly of coronary embolism, Tuesday night, are planned for Friday afternoon. The body is lying in state at the Zink Funeral Home and will be taken to the Presbyterian church at 1:00 o’clock, to lie in state until the services at 2:00 o’clock with the Rev. G. E. Griffiths officiating. These will be followed by Eastern Star rites and internment will be made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Albert, Art and Ed Leichtnam, Vane Gokey, Wilbur Kuehnast and Adolph Vogler.

The flowers will be in charge of the ladies of the Eastern Star and the Royal Neighbors.

Mary Clara Haylett was born in the town of Greenvillw, Outagamie County, Oct. 16, 1881. She received her education at Neenah and was married at Neenah, Dec. 5, 1904 to Martin Anderson.

At the age of 21 she came to Abbotsford with her parents and has lived here until her death.

Mrs. Anderson, apparently in good health, Tuesday evening, had gone to the Masonic hall where the Eastern Star had planned to practice for the coming of a Grand Lodge officer in April. Mrs. R. H. Treat, who had gone to the hall a little earlier, and Mrs. Anderson were waiting for the other officers when Mrs. Anderson was suddenly stricken and died instantly.

Mrs. Anderson served as worthy matron of the Abbotsford chapter of the Order of Eastern Star in 1926 and 1927 and also was Oracle in the Royal Neighbor lodge.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, one son, Kenneth, and a daughter, Mrs. Alfred (Audrey) Scheel, both of Abbotsford, Wis. There are seven grand children. She also leaves three brothers: Norman Haylett, of Calgary, Canada; Oscar, of Neenah; Jesse, of Lewiston, Idaho; and one sister, Mrs. John Cook, of Duluth, Minn. A brother, George Haylett, of Lewiston, Idaho, preceded her in death.
