Paul, Joyce (Marriage - 22 May 1948)
Miss Joyce Paul, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Paul, Abbotsford, and Leon Reckner, Stratford, exchanged marriage vows Saturday, May 22, in a ceremony at Bethlehem Lutheran church, Milan. The Rev. H. Malotky officiated.
The bride’s gown was fashioned with a white satin bodice and a marquisette skirt featuring satin appliques which were repeated at the Bertha collar. Her Queen Anne sleeves came to points at the wrists and the skirt ended in a long train. She wore a fingertip veil. Her bouquet was an arrangement of coral roses and white swansonia.
The bride’s cousin, Miss Lois Nernberger, Stetsonville, was maid of honor in a gown of white rayon taffeta with a shirred marquisette skirt. She carried a bouquet of coral roses and white swansonia.
Supper was served at the home of the bride’s parents and a reception was held there in the afternoon. The Trianon Gardens was the scene of a wedding dance that evening.
Mrs. Reckner is a graduate of the Abbotsford high school.
The couple will reside on the bridegroom’s farm near Stratford.
