Perry, Ruth (Marriage - 28 Aug. 1948)
At a candle light ceremony at Hancock Congregational church, Saturday evening, Aug. 28, at 7:30, Miss Ruth Perry, Milwaukee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Perry, Hancock, was given in marriage by her father to Frances McClellan, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Standards of gladioli and candelabra formed the setting for the double ring service read by the Rev. H. H. Ferris.
Before the ceremony, Stanley Hamilton sang "I Love You Truly," and during the service, "Because."
The bride was attired in a white crepe gown designed with sweetheart neckline, a fitted bodice buttoned down the back, and full skirt. Her lace appliquéd fingertip veil of silk illusion was caught to a curvette of braided crepe. She wore long, lace mitts and carried a bouquet of rhubrum lilies. A double strand pearl necklace completed her ensemble.
Mrs. Roger Fiebig, La Crosse, was matron of honor for her sister. She wore a gown of yellow crepe with fitted bodice, a full skirt with fish tail peplum and carried a cascade bouquet of orchid gladioli. Aqua crepe formed the similar gowns of the bridesmaids, Irene Miszchewski, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Raymond Wiley, Hancock. Kay and Mary Fiebig, La Crosse, were junior bridesmaids. The attendants carried cascade bouquets of yellow gladioli and wore pearl necklaces, gifts of the bride.
John McClellan, Milwaukee, was best man for his brother. Ushering were Roger Fiebig, La Crosse, and Howard Lanser, Sheboygan.
Both the mother of the bride and groom wore black and white print dresses and shoulder corsages of pink and white gladioli. The groom’s grand mother, Mrs. Mary Steiber, Milwaukee, wore a grey print and a similar corsage.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the community building.
After a week’s honeymoon at a cottage of Fish Lake, Mr. and Mrs. McClellan will make their home at Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Mr. and Mrs. George Kelsey, Abbotsford, were among guests at the wedding. The Orrin Perry family formerly lived in Abbotsford, Wis.
