The marriage of Miss Gertrude Apfelbeck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Apfelbeck, and Francis X. Pevan, son of Mrs. Velina Pevan, of Chippewa Falls, will take place Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 9:00 o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby, Wis.

The marriage of Miss Genevieve Bailke and Louis Nacker will take place at Christ Lutheran church at Abbotsford, Thursday afternoon, October 28.

Walter Grambort and Fred Ridderbusch went to Milwaukee today with a carload of cattle for the H. C. Christensen company.

Carl Johnson, Ag. 3, arrived Wednesday afternoon for a ten day leave. He is being transferred from San Diego to Moffett Field.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Zimich and family and his mother, Mrs. Frances Zimich, of Wausau, visited at the home of Mrs. Frank Chris, Sunday. Mrs. Chris is ill at her home.

Mr. and Mrs. Harley Voigt, daughters, Joyce, Joanne, and Lois, and Robert Daley, Wauwatosa, and Mr. and Mrs. Chet Knight and family spent the week end at the home of their mother, Mrs. Henry Raasch. Sunday dinner was served in observance of the birthday anniversaries of Mrs. Raasch and son, William.

A family get together was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Janda over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Campbell, of Racine, came Friday evening. Dr. and Mrs. J. A. Butzer and Mrs. John Butzer, Sr., of Mankato, Minn., came Saturday evening. They all left Sunday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. George Vetter left Saturday for Madison to see his father, Leonard Vetter, who is ill.

Miss Juanita Sybeldon, Tomahawk, spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sybeldon. Saturday evening guests were Lillian Rajek and Laura Hornung, Wausau. The latter is a field worker with the Wisconsin Anti Tuberculosis Association.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Peterson and daughters visited at the Swan Peterson home at Owen, Sunday.

The Abbotsford high school football team lost to Mosinee, there, Friday afternoon, by a score of 19 to 13.

Mrs. Vern Steffen, sons, Jim and Bill, and Miss Jane Dolan drove to Appleton, Sunday, and visited her mother, Mrs. Joseph De Noble, Sr. They were joined at Appleton by her brother, Joseph De Noble, and attended the Packer game at Green Bay. They returned Sunday evening.
