Funeral services for Ronald
McKevitt, 19, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence McKevitt, Jr., of Neillsville,
who drowned Sunday evening at Eau Claire Dells Park east of Wausau, were held
Wednesday, June 30, at 10 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville.
The Rev. Charles D. Brady officiated and interment was in the parish cemetery. A
Rosary service was held Tuesday evening at the Georgas Funeral Home where the
body was in state.
Ronald Michael McKevitt, the son of Lawrence Ronald,
Jr., and Ramona Holmgreen McKevitt, was born September 13, 1951, at Black River
Falls. He attended schools in Germany and at Tomah and Glenbulah, and graduated
from the Fremont-Weyauwega High School with the class of 1969. A member of St.
Mary’s Catholic Church at Neillsville, Ronald McKevitt attended Stevens Point
State University and was presently employed at the Fullerton Lumber Company in
Wausau.
He had been swimming with a group Sunday evening at Marathon
County Park when his friends noticed that he was missing. The body was recovered
from the Eau Claire River by Marathon County authorities Monday noon.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include four brothers, Randy, 18, Reggie,
16, Bryan, 13 and Craig, 12, all at home; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Lawrence McKevitt, Sr., of Neillsville and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Holmgreen of
Black River Falls.

Funeral services for Ronald M. McKevitt, 19, of
Neillsville, who drowned June 27, while swimming in the Eau Claire River east of
Wausau, were held Wednesday, June 30, at 10 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church
with the Rev. Charles D. Brady officiating. Interment was in the parish
cemetery. The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were: James Abraham, Jim Redmann, Jerry Shep, James Pruess, Cleo
Woodward, Clayton Potter, Mike Glover and James Nolan.
Attending the
services for Ronald McKevitt were his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence
McKevitt, Sr., of Neillsville and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Holmgreen of Black River
Falls.
