Kleinstick, Louis George (10 Dec. 1905 - 30 May 1949)

Funeral services for Louis Kleinstick, 43, Abbotsford, who died Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, of injuries suffered earlier in the day in an automobile accident east of here, will be held at 2:00 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Zink Funeral Home.

John Neuendorf, Medford, will officiate and burial will be made in the Abbotsford cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the time of the services.

Mr. Kleinstick was driving to Edgar to do some papering for his brother, Tuesday morning, when his car collided with a milk truck on Highway 29, about a mile east, at 8:20.

Marathon County traffic authorities said that the one and one-half ton milk truck, driven by Emery Schmitt, 20, Colby, Route 1, and owned by Merlin Schjoneman, Colby, was proceeding from the south out of a private driveway and turning west on the highway when Mr. Kleinstick, heading east, down a slight grade, struck the left side of the truck immediately behind the cab.

Mr. Kleinstick’s car, a 1929 Ford, was demolished as it was rammed half way under the truck. Damage to the truck, placed at $75, was confined to the undercarriage and van portion of the vehicle.

Mr. Kleinstick was taken, by ambulance, to St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield. He had suffered a severe skull fracture and a crushed chest.

Schmitt, driver of the truck, was not injured.

Louis George Kleinstick was born Dec. 10, 1905, in Colby, Wis. He grew up in that area and received his education in Colby schools. On May 21, 1927, he married Vivian Stewart and moved to Abbotsford, where he had been a painter and paperhanger for several years.

Besides his wife, those who survive him are three daughters, Mrs. Norman (Shirley) Brocker, Milwaukee; Mrs. Orville (Betty) Van Slett, Abbotsford; and Claryce Kleinstick, at home.

Four brothers and three sisters surviving are Miss Edna Kleinstick, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Augusta Pals, Waukesha; Mrs. Selma Edes, Wenatchee, Wash.; Richard Kleinstick, Edgar; Otto Kleinstick, Spencer; Adolph Kleinstick, Gary, Indiana; and Herbert Kleinstick, address unknown.
