The Rev. and Mrs. G. E. Griffiths and Miss Jessie Merrill left Sunday to attend the Presbyterian Synodical at Carrol College, Waukesha. They also visited relatives at Milwaukee and planned to return the end of the week.

Mrs. G. C. Chronquist and four children, Mrs. Charles Williams, of Marshfield, and Larry Lundberg, of Barron, visited Mrs. M. N. Hutt, Wednesday morning. Miss Maureen Hutt accompanied them to visit for the day. Miss Phyllis Lindberg also accompanied them and is helping at the Chronquist home during the summer.

Mrs. M. N. Hutt and her sister, Mrs. Charles Williams, of Marshfield, visited Mr. Williams at St. Joseph’s hospital, Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Williams underwent an appendectomy on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Daellenbach, Mrs. Bertha Wilbert, Mrs. Gust Wilhelme and Charles Wilhelme visited friends at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, Sunday.

Mrs. Albert Fenske was admitted to St. Joseph’s hospital, Tuesday, for treatment and was discharged Wednesday.

Mrs. Frank Sampson is visiting relatives at Cameron.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ziebarth returned Thursday from Brookings, S. Dak., where they had spent several weeks with relatives.

The Rural Letter Carriers and their auxiliary held their annual meetings and picnic at the Owen park, Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Earl, Mrs. George Barker, the Misses Mernajean Moore and Martha Janda, and Donald Ingersoll attended from Abbotsford, Wis. Mrs. Barker is secretary-treasurer for the auxiliary and Grant Herrick, of Curtiss, holds the office for the carriers.

Al Notbohm, Chelsea, was a caller here, Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. George Stump spent Tuesday at their cottage at Lake Alice, returning here Wednesday afternoon.

Bill Hemphill, who has been attending Hamline University at St. Paul, will be home Sunday for a week, after which he will leave for Detroit Lakes, Minn., to work at a Boy Scout camp for the summer vacation.

Those from here who attended the funeral of Mrs. Roy Merwin at Wausau, Saturday, included Mrs. Emily Merwin, Harold Merwin, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Merwin, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Merwin, Mrs. David Stieber, Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Loucks and family, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Hennlich, of Curtiss; Mrs. George Edwards, Owen; and Mr. and Mrs. Will Ouimette, Park Falls. Mrs. Roy Merwin was a former resident of Abbotsford, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Calvert Sparks and son, Madison, visited here and at Wausau from Friday until Monday morning. Mr. Sparks was a former resident.

Mrs. Julius Kraemer and Mrs. Wayne Spencer were in Wausau Wednesday. Mrs. Kraemer visited Mr. Kraemer, a surgical patient at Memorial hospital.

Mrs. Norman Kalepp is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Cassidy, at Bristow, Indiana.

Dr. and Mrs. G. G. Shields and family spent the week end with relatives at Westby.
