James Benzschawel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Benzschawel, Rt. 3, Stanley, claimed Lila Larson daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard J. Larson, rt. 1, Eau Claire, as his bride in a double ring ceremony at 10 a.m. in sacred Heart Church in Eau Claire on Saturday, Oct. 31, 1953.
The bride’s gown was a ballerina length, white satin covered with net followed with another net and lace trimmed with rhinestones and pearls. A jacket of lace was included. The veil was a fingertip style with a high crown of bead pearls.
The maid of honor, Loretta Micke, cousin of the groom, also wore a ballerina length gown of pink with a net headband. The other bridesmaids, Mrs. Dale Fjelstad, sister of the bride, wore a ballerina blue gown. She also wore a headband of blue net and satin.
The best men, William Micke Jr. and Dale Fjelstad, were attending groomsmen.
Ushers were Elmer Heiman, cousin of the groom and Orlin Larson and Harold Larson, both brothers of the bride.
A reception was held at 2 p.m. in the home of the groom’s parents. Following the reception they left on a short honeymoon.
