Kinas, Patricia P. #2 (28 OCT 1953)
Bouquets of white chrysanthemums and orchid mums decorated the altar of St. Hedwig’s Church here for the 10:30 a.m. wedding ceremony when Patricia P. Kinas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kinas, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Allan D. Braun, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Braun of Greenwood, on Wednesday, Oct. 28th, 1953.
The Rev. Francis Piekarski read the double ring marriage service.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a floor length gown fashioned with a Chantilly lace halter formal Basque bodice and a bouffant skirt of nylon tulle. Her matching long sleeved Chantilly lace jacket with a Queen Anne’s collar was adorned with baby seed pearls. The Chantilly lace Juliet cap had matching seed pearls as on the jacket. Tiny buds of bridal illusion with seed pearl centers bordered the bride’s fingertip veil. Her wedding bouquet was of gold talisman roses.
During the ceremony vocal solos were sung by Mrs. Leon Kaczmarek and Joseph Pabich.
Marci Kinas was her sister’s first bridesmaid, other bridal attendants being Virginia Kinas, the bride’s sister, June Braun, Eau Claire, Iris Young, Marshfield, and Betty Kraus, Madison.
The bridesmaid’s gowns were fashioned of emerald green nylon net with velveteen strapless bodices which were topped with velveteen shrug shoulder jackets. The skirts were given a hoop effect with five bias-cut panier tiers. Their headdresses were comprised of three slim bands with nose-tip veiling. Each of the bridesmaids carried a large bouquet of rust colored baby chrysanthemums.
Everett Metcalf of Madison was best man. Groomsmen were Eddie Neiman and Marion Teclaw of Thorp, and Gerald and Glenn Horn, Greenwood.
For the occasion the bride’s mother was attired in a black velvet gown with pearl and rhinestone trim and the bridegroom’s mother wore a lilac dress. Mrs. Kinas’ corsage was of red roses and Mrs. Braun’s of pink roses.
Dinner was served to 200 relatives at the St. Hedwig’s Parish Hall and a wedding supper was served to 1500 guests. During the evening music was furnished by Marion Sciezor’s Orchestra.
The bride is a graduate of the Thorp High School and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, Marshfield. The groom is a graduate of Greenwood High School.
The couple are spending their honeymoon in the western states. For her trip the bride wore a navy blue knit suit with white and blue accessories.
They will reside in Thorp.
