In a ceremony performed by Father Frank Brickle at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Colby at 9:00 o’clock, Oct. 24th, 1953, Mr. Wm. Bogumill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bogumill of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis., and Miss Sylvia Marie Schonfeldt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schonfeldt of Colby, Wisconsin were united in the holy bonds of matrimony.

 

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a gown of nylon lace net and satin bodice trimmed with seed pearls; it was fashioned with a Queen Ann collar and long sleeves. Her skirt was of nylon net over satin and her fingertip veil was secured by a cap of seed pearls.

 

The maid of honor, Miss Frances Pozdell, wore a combination of velveteen bodice, jacket and nylon net skirt, floor length. Her nylon net skirt, floor length. Her headpiece was of lace and velveteen and her bouquet was lace face shaped with yellow, rust and white mums.

 

The bridesmaids, Misses Shirley Radinger and Marie Krause of Marshfield, wore gowns identical to that of the maid of honor, in mulberry and emerald green with similar headpieces and like flowers.

The cousin of the groom, Richard Polnaszek of Milwaukee, served as best man, and groomsmen were Bernard Frenette, brother-in-law of the groom and Art and Melvin Schonfeldt, brothers of the bride.

As flower girl, Sharon Schonfeldt, Marshfield, wore a dress of white, with velveteen and net headpiece, and carried a basket of yellow, rust and white mums. Her fingertip veil was of nylon net.

 

The wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s parents and a dinner and reception was held at the V. F. W. Hall in Colby, Wis.

 

The bride is a graduate of the Marshfield High School. The groom graduated from thorp High School and attended the Superior State College at Superior.

 

The couple are making their home in Colby where the groom operates Bill’s Bar and Bowling Alleys.

Guests at the wedding and festivities included friends and relatives from Thorp, River Falls, Medford, Withee, Colby, Marshfield, Madison, Milwaukee, Wausau, Dorchester, Jump River, Kingston, N.Y.
