Scheeler, Herman G. (31 July 1877 - 19 Sept. 1950)

Herman G. Scheeler, 73, died at his home here Tuesday night at 11:30 o’clock. Death was attributed to complications resulting from a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler will officiate. The body is lying in state at the Zink Funeral Home.

Mr. Scheeler was born in Byron, July 31, 1877. He received his education in the rural schools there before moving to the Abbotsford area as one of its pioneer settlers. He married Mary Kelpin on Nov. 24, 1904, and they lived in Abbotsford for five years while he worked on a railroad. The couple then moved to a farm near Granton, where they resided for 31 years before returning to Abbotsford ten years ago. Mrs. Scheeler survives her husband.

Other survivors include a son, Carl Scheeler, Casanovia; and three daughters, Mrs. H. J. (Gertrude) Amacher, Abbotsford; Mrs. William (Dorothy) Grottke, Sauk City; and Mrs. William (Edna) Marg, Schofield. There are 11 grand children and two great grand children living. August Schueler, Abbotsford, a brother and two sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Schueler was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church.

Funeral services for Herman G. Scheeler, 73, who died at his home here Tuesday, were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiated and burial was made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

Pallbearers were Herbert Nelson, Arthur Nelson, Arthur Franz, Clarence Gosse, Charles Krone, and Albert Wiedenhoeft.

In charge of the floral arrangements were Carol Amacher, Gladys Kuenzi, Barbara Pittsley, Sylvia Keller, Grace Scheeler, Roger Marg, and Jimmy Daellenbach.

"Be Still My Soul," a solo selection was sung by Miss Dorothy Kieser. The Misses Marilyn, Doris, Carol, and Dorothy Kieser sang "Asleep in Jesus" and "Blessed Sleep." They were accompanied at the organ by Miss Minnie Schueler.
