Ellenbecker, Theresa (Marriage - 16 Feb. 1950)
Miss Theresa Ellenbecker and La Verne Karsten exchanged marriage vows Thursday afternoon, Feb. 16. The double ring ceremony took place at 2:00 o’clock at the rectory of St. John the Baptist church at Wuerzburg, with the Rev. Galen Miller officiating.
For the occasion the bride was attired in a dusty rose suit with brown accessories. Her corsage was made of pink and white tipped rose buds with assorted white flowers.
Her only attendant was her friend, Miss Florence Sozka, of Athens. She wore a navy blue suit with navy and white accessories. Pink and white carnations formed her corsage.
Glen Johnson, a friend of the groom, was best man.
Both mothers wore black dresses, accented with corsages of yellow and white carnations.
A wedding reception and 5:00 o’clock dinner, with places set for 25, were held at the Ski-Lite. A wedding dance was held in the evening at the Abbotsford armory.
Both young people are well known here having attended the Abbotsford high school. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Ellenbecker, owners of George’s Tavern, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Al Karsten, all of whom are at Karsten’s grocery store.
