Frederickson, Leland Earl (17 July 1918 - 23 Mar. 1950)
Funeral services for Leland Frederickson, 31, who died Thursday, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, at Our Savior’s Lutheran church, Stanley, with the Rev. John Alver officiating. Internment took place in Evergreen cemetery, Stanley.
The pallbearers were Ben Hingiss, Robert Kreklau, Elroy Patitz, Earl Eake, of Abbotsford, and Clifford Kelly and Joe Haase, of Stanley.
The flowers were carried by the Misses Nancy Olson, Carol Kelly, Yvonne Nelson, Wilma Erickson, Kay Mattes, and Iva La Flex, of Gilman.
Leland Earl Frederickson was born to Mr. and Mrs. Nels Frederickson in Shawano county, July 17, 1918. He spent most of his life in Clark county where for many years his father owned the Four Corners Cheese Factory, west of Abbotsford, Wis. After Mr. Frederickson sold the cheese factory, Lee worked for a time at Kennedy’s Community Cash Store and for the Marathon-Clark Cooperative Dairy Association and other cheese factories. On Jan. 1 of this year, he went to help his father, who had purchased the Progress Cheese Factory, near Gilman.
On Tuesday, he underwent an emergency appendectomy at Sacred Heart hospital, Eau Claire. He was making a fine recovery but a kidney deficiency caused his death, Thursday at 9:00 o’clock in the evening.
Besides his parents, he is survived by four brothers and three sisters, Ward, of Abbotsford; Norman, Norbert, Dale, Janet, and Betty, at home, and Mrs. Joseph (Mildred) Weisbrod, of Fort Bragg, N.C.
Among the relatives and friends from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Demsky, De Pere; Mrs. August Kalore, Cicel; Mrs. Charles Hansen, Gilett; Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Brodhagen, Mrs. Donald Broumbaugh, Marshfield; and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Frederickson, Greenwood. There were also a large number of friends and former neighbors from Abbotsford who attended the funeral.
