Pollnow, Ella W. (21 February 1888 - 1952)
Ella W. Pollnow of 165 East Sixth Street died at the home of her
sister, Mrs. Alvina Warlum, where she has made her home for the
past 43 years. Funeral services were conducted on Monday at the
Georgas Funeral Home with interment
in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Rev. Virgil Nulton was the
officiating clergyman.
Miss Pollnow was born February 21, 1888, in the Town of Hewett to
Carl and Christien (Loerch) Pollnow. She was a lifelong resident of
Clark County. She was employed at the overall factory for several
years and was engaged as bookkeeper at the Warlum Plumbing Shop for
over 25 years, retiring in 1944 due to ill health.
Miss Pollnow was a member of Diamond Rebekah Lodge No. 64 of
Neillsville.
She is survived by three brothers, Fred Pollnow, Ed Pollnow and
Walter Pollnow, and four* sisters, Mrs. Alvina Warlum, Mrs. Rose
Milton and Mrs. Arnold (Ruth) Yankee, all of Neillsville, Mrs. Hans
(Emma) Johnson and Mrs. Susie Sollie of Eau Claire. (*There are
five ladies names given).
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Louie, who died in
England in World War I, and Bert Pollnow of Neillsville; and one
sister Anna, who died in infancy.
Pallbearers were: Ole Botnen, Olaf Botnen, Glen Robinson, Emer
Robinson, Warren Medicke and John Mattson.
Miss Betty Jean Kosmosky sang two selections accompanied by Mrs.
Virgil Nulton at the piano.
Persons from out of town attending the rites included: Mrs. Fred
Switzenberg of Barron, De Wayne O. Sollie, Mrs. Susie Sollie, Miss
Genevieve Johnson and Ruth Lefstead all of Eau Clarie, Mr. and Mrs.
Carl Manskee of Watertown, Mrs. Raymond Stuve and Mrs. Sam Newton
of Humbird.
