Withee, Sarah #2 (2 SEP 1834 - 18 APR 1910)

Sarah M. Nutting was born in Somerset county, Maine, Sept. 2, 1834.  She was united in marriage to Hiram N. Withee in Maine on Aug. 17, 1859, and in 1865 Mr. and Mrs. Withee moved to Jackson County, where they lived on a farm until in 1879, when they came to Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.).  Since that time Mrs. Withee has made her home here continuously until her death, which occurred Monday night.

Mr. Withee, who was a county treasurer of Clark County for many years, died in 1897, so that Mrs. Withee is survived by six children: Lyman F. of Washington, Charles B. of Tacoma, Henry W. of St. Paul, Alvin Z. of Detroit, Levi of Missoula, Mont., and Mrs. Louisa Wright of Willmar, Minn.  The oldest son of Mrs. Withee, John F., is dead.  Mrs. Withee is also survived by two sisters in Maine.

Mrs. Withee was a lady who lived a most exemplary life.  She was a member of the Methodist Church and during her years of residence here had demonstrated her Christian and charitable character in many ways.  She was an exceptionally good woman, and her demise will be the cause of much sorrow to her friends here and abroad.

Funeral services will take place at the Methodist Church Friday afternoon at 2:20.
