Funeral services for Charles Jakel who died unexpectedly of a heart attack about 7:30 Tuesday evening at his home west of Abbotsford, will be held Friday afternoon at the Evangelical and Reformed church at Curtiss at 2:00 o’clock. Burial will be made in Pine Hill cemetery.
The body is lying in state at the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin) at Owen.

Funeral services for Charles William Jakel, Curtiss, who died Feb. 6, were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church. The Rev. Franz Puhlmann officiated and burial was made in the Pinehill cemetery.
Pallbearers were Melvin Ostenson, Walter Lueth, Sr., Henry Johnson, Henry Peterson, Henry House and John Michlig.
Mrs. Harry Laabs, Mrs. Paul Fricke, Arlene and Geraldine Krueger, Mrs. George Murphy, Mrs. Franz Peissig, Mrs. Lester Bowen, and Mrs. Herb Fehrenbach were in charge of flower arrangements.
Mrs. Franz Puhlmann sang "Precious Lord Take My Hand" and "Jesus is Tenderly Calling Me Home." Mrs. Elroy Krueger was accompanist at the organ.
Charles Jakel was born Nov. 6, 1881 at Bridgewood, Ill. When three years old, his parents moved to a farm near Curtiss. Mr. Jakel and Miss Anna Wasmuth were married at Curtiss in 1913 and made their home on a farm.
To them were born nine children, all of whom survive their father, except a son, Elmer, who was killed in a car accident in October, 1949.
Mr. Jakel was active in Curtiss community affairs having held offices in the town, Peace Evangelical and Reformed church and was on the school board for about 20 years.
Mr. Jakel suffered a heart attack on Tuesday morning and died at his home that evening.
Surviving him are his widow, the following children: Arnold, of Milwaukee; Mrs. Henry (Elaine) Hermanson, Brook, Ind.; Mrs. Carl (Lucille) Steiner, Kingfisher, Oklahoma; Robert, a student at Coe College, Ia.; Carl, Dale, Dennis and Beatrice, at home. There are six grand children. All of the children were here for the funeral, except Mrs. Steiner.
