Thompson, Ellen Janet (Marriage - 27 June 1951)
The home of Mr. and Mrs. George D. Thompson was the scene of a pretty wedding ceremony performed on the lawn on the farm home near Berlin, on Wednesday, June 27, at 11:00 o’clock when their daughter, Ellen Janet, was united in marriage to Myron Claude Wepfer, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Wepfer, Abbotsford, Wis. Ellen, the bride, was beautifully attired in a pink gown, wearing a white orchid corsage.
The bridesmaid, Miss Maurine Joyce Wepfer, sister of the groom, wore a Copenhagen blue gown similar to the bride’s. She wore a white gardenia corsage.
The marriage was performed by Justice O. B. Rhyner, Oshkosh. The bride was led down a rose strewn path on the arm of her father, while Miss Charlotte Jackson played the strains of a wedding march.
The groom was attended by Thomas Neal Thompson, brother of the bride.
The mothers of the couple wore corsages of pink carnations and white baby mums.
The bride graduated from the Berlin high school and was formerly employed at the First National Bank at Berlin. The groom graduated from the Abbotsford high school and the Studebaker approved course at South Bend, Indiana, and is now affiliated in business with his parents at the Motor Inn Garage at Abbotsford, Wis.
Among those who attended the ceremony and dinner were the immediate family and the groom’s grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Wepfer and Mr. and Mrs. John H. Zahorka, Colby, Wis. A reception was held in the afternoon when a host of relatives and friends came from the immediate vicinity, Berlin, Appleton, Beaver Dam. Neenah, Abbotsford, Marshfield, Stevens Point, Wittenburg, Waupun, Wisconsin Dells and Adams.
The couple, after a wedding trip in northern Wisconsin, will make their home on North Division Street, in Abbotsford where they will be at home to their friends after July 9.
A beautiful three tier wedding cake decorated the center of the table. Blue and white streamers and white wedding bells were used in the decorations.
