Hagedorn, Frederich W. (19 December 1883 - 6 April 1952) 

Frederich W. Hagedorn, age 68, died Sunday, April 6, at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Will Rogers Field, Oklahoma City, Okla. 

Funeral services were conducted on Good Friday at Three o’clock from the Georgas Funeral Home.  Rev. William Koehler was the officiating clergyman. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery with the Haugen-Richmond Post of the American Legion taking part. 

Mr. Hagedorn was born on December 19, 1883, to Maira Quast and Julius Hagedorn in the Town of Weston.  He received his education in Clark County and went to work in Oklahoma as a young man.  He enlisted in World War I at Fort Sill, Okla., on August 23, 1917.  He was with the American Expeditionary Forces in France until April 26, 1919, spending 17 months overseas.  He received his discharge at Camp Grant, Ill., on May 7, 1919.  He spent a short time here before returning to Oklahoma as an auto salesman.  For the past nine years he was employed as a carburetor technician at Douglas Aircraft at Tinker Field, Ill. Ill health forced him to retire in February and he entered the hospital in March.  He was a member of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge at Oklahoma City. 

He is survived by two brothers and one sister, Paul and Richard Hagedorn of Neillsville, and Mrs. Elizabeth Grap of Wausau.  One sister, Mrs. Ernest Hemp, preceded him in death. 

Pallbearers were: Walter Durst, Leo Foster, H. C. Brandt, Charles Poole, Heron Van Gorden, and P. C. Ludovic.  Color bearers were: Joe Hartung and Ed Zschernitz; firing squad, Joe Cardarelle, William Seif, Ernest Vine, Herman Moen, H. J. Naedler, Gust Carl, Otto Dux and Ernest Karnitz.  James Rahn was the bugler.  Mrs. Glen Lazotte and Mrs. John Kleckner sang two selections accompanied by Miss Gail Ludovic. 

Persons from out of town attending the services included Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hemp and family of Rochester, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Grap and daughter, Joyce, Clarence Grap, Mrs. Elizabeth Grap of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schleuter of Marshfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hagedorn and son of Fond du Lac.
