Schultz, Mary (17 September 1862 - 10 April 1952) 

Mrs. Mary Schultz, age 90, died at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Schultz in the Town of Levis, on Thursday evening. 

Funeral services were conducted on Monday at two o’clock at the Georgas Funeral Home.  Rev. William Koehler was the officiating clergyman.  Burial was made in the Dells Dam Cemetery. 

Mrs. Schultz, nee Mary Leopold, was born on September 17, 1862, to Elizabeth Scott and Tucker Leopold in Illinois. She came to this country with her parents as a small child. They traveled by covered wagon and mule team and located at Hatfield.  She attended school by walking from Hatfield to a school south of what is known as the "Big Spring".   

On July 4, 1878, she was married to George Schultz at Neillsville.  Following their marriage they located on a farm in the Town of Levis. 

She is survived by four children, Mrs. Arne (Florence) Bakken of Black River Falls, Phillip (Kip) Schultz of Hatfield, Mrs. Tony (Hazel) Hantke of Neillsville and Guy Schultz of Neillsville, Route 2; and four grandchildren. 

Her husband, who died in 1931, four children, one brother, John Leopold, two half-sisters, Mrs. Amanda Green, and Mrs. Fred Blenco and one half-brother, James Wedding, preceded her in death. 

Pallbearers were: Louie Lautenbach, Ed Murphy, Roy Iverson, Ladd Holub, Floyd Hagie and Legare Apfel. 

Mrs. Glenn Lazotte and Mrs. John Kleckner sang two selections and were accompanied by Miss Gail Ludovic.
