Junchen, Nellie (16 December 1913 - 24 June 1952)
Mrs. Walter Junchen died at the Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh Tuesday at 4 a.m. from a brain hemorrhage. The body will lie in state at the Georgas Funeral Home until Friday at 12:30, when it will be taken to the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church at Granton. There services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be made in the parish cemetery, with the Rev. Mr. Koch of the First Lutheran Church of Oshkosh officiating.
Mrs. Junchen, the former Nellie Wahlen, was born at New Glarus, Wis., on December 16, 1913, to Rudolph and Elizabeth (Baumgartner) Whalen. She came to Clark County with her parents in 1926. Here they operated the Shortville Cheese Factory. She attended rural school in New Glarus and Neillsville High School. She attended Eau Claire Business College and when she returned to Neillsville was employed at the county agent’s office, Neillsville, and the Neillsville Production Credit association. Her last position before locating in Oshkosh was as deputy county treasurer.
She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid of Oshkosh.
She was married on September 21, 1941, to Walter Junchen at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran parsonage at Granton.
She is survived by her husband, her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Wahlen of Madison, one sister, Mrs. William (Irma) Rizner, Neillsville.
Her father preceded her in death two years ago.

Funeral rites were conducted for Mrs. Walter Junchen, a former Neillsville resident, on Friday at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church at Granton with the Rev. E. A. Koch of Oshkosh officiating.
Pallbearers were: Joe Wavrunek, Henry Rahn, Henry Shaw, Theodore Schoenherr, James West and Richard Albrecht. Ladies in charge of the floral offerings were: Mrs. Oscar Walk, Mrs. Henry Rahn, Mrs. Theodore Schoenherr, Mrs. Gale Hiles, Mrs. Henry Shaw, Mrs. James West and Mrs. Richard Albrecht.
