Wiltjer, Jeanette (Marriage - 26 Jan. 1952)

Now on a honeymoon trip in the southern states are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Nagel, who were married at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Zion Lutheran church, Colby, by the Rev. Mr. Hoffman.

The bride, the former Miss Jeanette Wiltjer, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wiltjer, Abbotsford, and the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Nagel, reside at Colby, Wis.

An entrained gown of satin, styled with long sleeves and tiers of lace on the skirt front, was selected by the bride for her wedding. A lace ruffle edged the net yoke and snug-fitting bodice, and self-covered buttons closed the back. Her veil, of imported silk illusion, edged with lace, fell from her heart shaped headdress, embroidered with seed pearls, and she carried an arrangement of red and white roses.

Attending the bride were her sister, Mrs. Eugene Steinke, Abbotsford, as matron of honor, and two other sisters, Mrs. Ralph Ritsema, Griffith, Indiana, and Marion Wiltjer, and also Beverly Lindberg, Abbotsford, as bridesmaids.

All were gowned alike in strapless frocks of net with matching taffeta boleros in shrimp, blue, fuchsia and light blue, respectively. Each carried a bouquet of tinted carnations.

Eugene Steinke, Abbotsford, the bride’s brother-in-law, was best man and Elroy Schmitt, Colby, the groom’s cousin, Bud Kunze, Abbotsford, and Ellis Winkle, Neillsville, another cousin of the groom, were groomsmen.

Russell Kniepers, Marshfield, the bride’s cousin, and Wilbur Schmitt, of Colby, a cousin of the groom, ushered.

The little flower girl was Nancy Ann Wiltjer, niece of the bride, who wore a white satin gown and carried a bouquet like that of the bride’s. Robert Schmitt, Colby, the groom’s cousin, was ring bearer.

A supper was served after the ceremony in the church parlors, followed by a reception at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride attended public school in Lansing, Ill., and is employed by the Danielson Dry Cleaners, and by Brodhagen’s Northland Henneries, Abbotsford, and the groom, who graduated from the Zion Lutheran school at Colby, and attended the Crete Community high school in Illinois, is engaged in farming.

The couple will make their home on a farm near Colby, Wis.
