Anderson, John (7 June 1877 - 18 Apr.
1952)
Rites for John Anderson, 74, who died at his home
at 10:45 a.m. Friday, April 18, of leukemia, were held Monday
afternoon. Conducting the services, which were held at the
Abbotsford armory at 1:00 o’clock, were Nicol Jardine and
George Johnson. Several hymns were sung by a quartet, composed of
Aaron Erickson and the Misses Emma Neuendorf, Hilda Blane, and
Evelyn Kuck. Miss Rachel Gasser was accompanist. They were "We Are
Fading, too, Like Flowers," "Rich Are the Moments of Blessing," and
"When Life’s Ended We Must Travel."
At the cemetery, "Call Home to Rest Beyond the
Veil of Weeping," was sung by the group and a prayer was offered by
Albert Gravel.
The pallbearers were William Wepfer, John
Schwartz, Louis Peckham, Gus Brecklin, Ray Marcott, and Arvid
Carlson.
Relatives from away who attended the funeral were
Mrs. Ida Paulson, Mrs. Louis Stacker, Mrs. Dennis Olson and
daughter, Dianne, of Winchester; Emil Hanson, Cadott; Mr. and Mrs.
Edwin Hanson, Colby; and Mrs. Clarence Olson, Marshfield.
John Anderson was born in Winchester, Wisconsin,
June 7, 1877. He was married at Clayton, to Miss Inga Olson, April
5, 1900. They lived on a farm in the town of Holton from 1904,
until 1945, when they moved to the village of Abbotsford, Wis.
He is survived by his widow and five children:
Clifford and Gordon Anderson, Route 1, Abbotsford; Mrs. George
(Gladys) Scheibe, Route 1, Abbotsford; Mrs. Orville (Alma) Nall,
Spencer; Mrs. Lawrence (Florence) Carlson, Route 1, Curtiss. There
are also 12 grand children, one great grand child and a sister,
Mrs. Otto Norgard, Minot, North Dakota surviving.
Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
