William L.
Berry, 65, died Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Joseph’s
hospital, Marshfield.
Funeral
services were held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Lulloff Funeral
Home, Colby, with the Rev. Harvey Schall officiating. Burial was
made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.
Operator of
a meat market at Colby, Mr. Berry retired in 1949 and had been
living with his daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Joyce) Kratochwill,
Muscoda.
A native of
Ironwood, Mich., he was born Feb. 11, 1883, and moved to Dorchester
at an early age. After his marriage to Mabel Hanson, Abbotsford, on
May 16, 1908, he opened a meat market in Abbotsford and operated it
for 30 years. He moved his business to Colby in 1938.
His wife
died Nov. 10, 1949. Surviving him are one son, Warner, Loyal; three
daughters, Mrs. Kratchowill, Mrs. Ben (Lenore) Riplinger, Rockford,
Ill.; and Mrs. Allen (Birdell) Brehm, Griffith, Ind.; and three
grand children.
Two sisters, Mrs. Anna Nelson, Chicago, Ill.; and a brother, Edward, San Diego, Calif., also survive.
