Jakel, Anna (18 July 1894 - 11 Aug. 1953)  
 

Mrs. Charles Jakel, 59 years old, died of cancer at 2:00 a.m. Tuesday at her farm home, after a prolonged illness.  
 

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Evangelical and Reformed church, with the Rev. O. K. Odland officiating. Internment followed in the family lot at Pine Hill cemetery, Curtiss.  
 

Mrs. Jakel, the former Anna Wasmuth, was born July 18, 1894, in Fulda, Germany, and came to the United States when she was six years old. She lived in St. Paul until she was 12 years old and after her parents died in 1906, came to Curtiss, which since has been her home.  
 

In December, 1912, she was married at Curtiss to Charles Jakel, who died in January, 1951. She was educated in St. Paul and in the Curtiss grade school.  
 

Surviving are five sons, Arnold, of Milwaukee; Carl, on the home farm at Curtiss; Robert, of Ames, Iowa; Dale, in service on Guam; and Dennis, a high school student, who lives at home. Her three daughters are Mrs. Henry (Elaine) Hermanson, Brook, Indiana; Mrs. Paul (Lucile) Steiner, Kingfischer, Oklahoma; and Beatrice, a grade school student, living at home. Another son, Elmer, died in November, 1949. 
 

There are eight grand children.
