Theodore W.
"Ted" Williams, 82, Greenwood, died on Wednesday, July 8, at
Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville. A memorial service was held
at 11 a.m., on Friday, July 10 , at Grace United Methodist Church,
Greenwood. The Rev. Dong Su Lee officiated. Services were also held
at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 11, at Necedah United Methodist
Church, Necedah. The Rev. Stephanie Taylor-Holmen officiated.
Theodore Wallace Williams was born on July 23, 1926, in Necedah, to
Robert B. and Alice (nee Blake) Williams. He was raised and
received his education in Necedah, where he received his high
school diploma. After his schooling, he entered the U.S. Navy and
served on the USS Nevada until 1946. He married Barbara Carter on
June 2, 1946, at the Necedah United Methodist Church. They moved to
Milwaukee, where he worked as a machinist at Rexnord, from 1950
until retiring in 1985. After retirement, they moved to Greenwood,
where they resided until his death. He was a member of Grace United
Methodist Church, the Greenwood American Legion and the Owen
Masonic Lodge. He had many interests, but especially loved spending
time with his family and grandchildren, hunting, fishing, traveling
(including most of the states, Costa Rica and Mexico), camping and
reading.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Barbara, Greenwood; three
children, Gary (Carolyn) Williams, Necedah, Wallene (Tom)
Neumiller, Savanah, Ill., and Jerome Williams, Necedah; 10
grandchildren, Craig, Blake, Tracy, Sarah, Jenny, Katie, Jamie,
Justin, Dayna and Danielle; 22 great-grandchildren, Lillian, Ella,
Daniel, Audrey, Valerie, Kimberly, Stephanie, Kayla, Carter, Julia,
Hatanna, Tyrona, Justin, Michael, Dante, Dylan, Grace, Faith,
Gwendolyn, Kaitlyn, Hannah, and Maxwell; three brothers, Alvin
Williams, Friendship, Roland Williams, Janesville, and James
(Audrey) Williams, Necedah; nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and one brother, Robert
Williams.
