Mildred A. Herrick, 83, of Greenwood, Wisconsin died
Saturday, June 27, 2009, at her home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July
3, 2009, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Joseph
Follmar will officiate and burial will follow in St. Mary's
Catholic Cemetery.
Visitations will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a
6:45 p.m. prayer service Thursday at Cuddie Funeral Home,
Greenwood, and at 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the
church.

GREENWOOD, WIS. -- Mildred A. Herrick, 83, of
Greenwood, died at her home Saturday, June 27, 2009.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday,
July 3, 2009, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenwood. The Rev.
Joseph Follmar will officiate and burial of her cremains will
follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Cuddie Funeral Home in
Greenwood from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009, with a 6:45
p.m. prayer service; and at church Friday from 10 a.m. until time
of service.
Mildred Ann Weber was born Jan. 30, 1926, in the
town of Eaton, rural Greenwood, the daughter of Louis and Anna
(Weseca) Weber. She grew up on the family farm and received her
education in the Greenwood area, graduating from Greenwood High
School in 1944. After high school, Mildred moved to Milwaukee to
work, and it was there that she was united in marriage to Charles
Edward Herrick on Nov. 24, 1945.
They moved to Greenwood and bought a service
station on the north end of town and operated Herrick's Gas Station
for two years. They then owned and operated North Mound Tavern in
Willard for one year, before moving back into Greenwood. Mildred
then went to work at the Farmer's Store, and worked there for
several years until it closed. She then worked at the Greenwood
I.G.A. for a short time, before becoming employed as a receptionist
for the Greenwood Telephone Company. She worked many years at the
telephone company until her retirement in 1982.
Her husband, Charlie, died July 27, 2001. She
continued to reside at home until her death.
Mildred was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
Church and St. Ann's Society, and had many interests, but
especially loved spending time with her family, playing cards,
cribbage, Scrabble and casinos.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Jeff
(Chris) Herrick of Mukwonago, Jim (Jeannie) Herrick of Colfax and
Penny (Dale) Smrecek of Greenwood; six grandchildren, Jordan
(Gretchen) Herrick of Colfax, Austin (Rhonda) Herrick of Bloomer,
Amy (Scott) Palkarski of Colfax, Nick Smrecek of Eau Claire, Cory
Smrecek of DePere and Elisabeth Herrick of Mukwonago; six
great-grandchildren, Spencer and Sidney Herrick of Colfax, Charlie
and Amelia Herrick of Bloomer, Lydia and Russell Palkarski of
Colfax; one brother, John (Irene) Weber of Rio Linda, Calif.; two
sisters-in-law, Lorraine Weber of Waukesha and Thelma of Bowling
Green, Ky.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many
friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie; one son, Patrick Herrick on July 10, 1991; four brothers, Carl, Bernie, Vic and Frankie Weber; and seven sisters, Leona Syth, Celia Curley, Adeline Rathsack, Helen, Mary, Hattie and Irene Weber.
