Robert Johnson, 82, of Owen died Sunday, June 28,
2009, at Colonial Center, Colby, Wis.
Funeral services are pending. The
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Owen is assisting the
family.

OWEN, WIS. --- Robert William Johnson, 82, of Owen,
passed on to eternal life Sunday, June 28, 2009, at the Colonial
Center in Colby, where he had resided since June 25,
2009.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday,
July 3, 2009, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. The
Rev. Kenneth A. Dix will officiate. Friends may call from 9 a.m.
until time of service Friday at the funeral home in Owen. Private
committal services will take place at a later date.
Robert was born Aug. 11, 1926, in Owen to Otto
and Kristina (Johannson) Johnson. He attended North Bright Country
School in Green Grove in Clark County and later attended Owen High
School. Following his education, Robert returned to help family
with farming chores. Robert worked for two to three years at Master
Package Company in Owen before returning to the farm and purchased
the homestead after his father Otto passed away in 1961.
Robert continued the farming tradition and worked
tirelessly and also cared for his mother, Kristina. He was always
willing to help his friends and neighbors anytime even after his
retirement.
In his spare time, he enjoyed visiting with
family and friends, some fishing and loved traveling to Nova
Scotia, the Minnesota State Fair and the Grand Ole Opry. Robert
liked going to antique tractor and steam shows with his nephew
Steve.
Robert is survived by his two sisters, Ruth
Simons of Owen and Mary Ellen Sohlberg of Port Angeles, Wash.; and
one brother, Walter (Helen) Johnson of Franklin Park, Ill. He is
further survived by many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and
one brother Arthur.
