Winslow, Louis Oliver (14 Oct. 1932 - 15 July 2009) 
 

Spencer, Wis. -- Louis Oliver Winslow, 76, formerly of Owen, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen. 
 

In honoring Louis' wishes, funeral services will be private for the family. His ashes will later be scattered on the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. 
 

Louis was born Oct. 14, 1932, to John and Francis (Waste) Winslow in Owen. He served his country by joining the Army and serving during the Korean War. He was awarded a medal for his sharpshooting PFC abilities. 
 

He married Alberta Jean (Weltzin) Winslow on Oct. 24, 1953, in Black Hawk County, Iowa. He was employed by Bud Schultz Farming in Unity, Ino Foods as a field man and inspector in Merrill, David Pagel Ginseng Farms in Wausau, and Witmer Industries in Abbotsford, Wis. 
 

Louis is survived by his wife, Alberta Winslow; their children, Linda (Leon) Marthhaler, Lee (Theresa) Winslow, Lois (Dale) Blasel, Laura Fosterling, Lonnie Winslow and LuAnn (Robin) Purdy; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 
 

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford is assisting the family.
