Weis, Marjorie Alice (Gennett) (July 30, 1932 -
July 23, 2009)
Marjorie Alice (Gennett) Weis, 76, of Spencer,
died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at the Golden Living Center -
Continental Manor, Abbotsford under the care of the staff of Golden
Living Center and Ministry Home Care Hospice.
She
was born in Marshfield, on July 30, 1932, to the late Mark and
Monica (Endreas) Gennett.
She
attended Spencer schools.
On
October 15, 1949, she was married to Donald Wies. They owned and
operated their dairy farm in Unity, until retirement brought them
to Spencer.
She
enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble. She was an avid Packer fan and
enjoyed listening to Elvis and Johnny Cash. In her younger years,
she enjoyed gardening, being a 4 H Leader, and cooking and baking.
Camping, fishing, traveling and an occasional trip to the casino
were on the top of her list as well.
She
is survived by her children, Bonnie (Michael) Jelinek, Wausau,
Beverly (John) Bohte, Wausau, Linda (Charles) Smith, Colby, Diane
(Thomas) Beyerl, Wausau, Jeffrey (Carol) Weis, Mosinee and Richard
(April) Weis, Wausau; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; on
sister Esther Bauer; and one brother, Roger Gennett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; three infant sons, Mark, Donald and William; on daughter, Cynthia Jo House; and sisters Joanne Weis and Betty Hanson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday,
July 29, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Spencer, of which
Margie was a long time member, with the Rev. Charles Stoetzel
presiding. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday,
July 28, at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Spencer and
Wednesday at Christ the King Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of
service. Burial will follow in the West Spencer
Cemetery.
