Candahl, Edgar M. (19 NOV 1916 - 8 JUN 1952)
Edgar M. Candahl was born Nov. 19, 1952 in Withee (Clark Co.), Wis.. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church and spent his childhood in Owen and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was united in marriage Aug. 5, 1939 to Alma Schultz of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. To that union were born four children: Ronnie, Carolyn, Christine (who in infancy preceded him in death), and Richard.
He served with the Merchant Marines in World War II and since then made his home at 31448 A South Logan Avenue, Milwaukee, Wis., but at the time of his accidental death on June 8, 1952 he was employed in the metal mines of Park City, Utah. He laid in state at Park City, Utah Friday, June 13th and at Owen, Wis., Monday, June 16th.
Funeral services were conducted from the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin) Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wagner officiating. He was laid to rest at the Nazareth Lutheran Cemetery at Withee, Wis.
Pallbearers: Gorden Andersen, Einer Andersen, Jimmy Jones, Erling Jensen, George Soinsen and Jess Bundersen.
Flower Girls: Mrs. Einer Andersen, Mrs. Jimmy Jones, Ethel Mae Riddlesteine, Mrs. Gorden Andersen, Mrs. Thorwald Carlson and Helga Andersen.
