Hill, Ruth (30 AUG 1952)

Ruth Hill approached the altar of the Bethany Lutheran Church, Owen, wearing a gold suit with matching accessories and a corsage of red roses and white mums when she and Claude Wilson were joined in wedlock.  The sacred nuptial ceremony was performed on Saturday, Aug. 30, 1952, at one-thirty o’clock with Rev. Henry Aukee reading the ceremony.

Attending the young people were Mrs. Newell Wilson, matron of honor and bridesmaid, Mrs. Wm. Wilson, sisters-in-law of the bridegroom. 

The maid of honor wore a rust colored suit while that of the bridesmaid was green.  They wore corsages of yellow and white mums and pink and white mums, respectively.

Attending Mr. Wilson was his brother Newell as best man and groomsman, Floyd Wilson.

At two o’clock a reception was held in the church parlors which were decorated in a color scheme of yellow and green with large baskets of cut fall flowers adding to the beauty of the occasion.

After a wedding trip through northern Wisconsin the couple have returned to Owen where Mr. Wilson is employed by the Western Condensing Co. and she is the owner and operator of the Owen Beauty Shop.   They are residing in the First Ward in the home formerly owned by Vern Cape of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Guests from away that attended the ceremony included Mr. and Mrs. Joe Stalear, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hill, Waukegan, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Vern Capes, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lokken, Minneapolis and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Jusula, Highbridge, Wis.
