The Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, was the setting Saturday, Jan. 3, 1953, of a lovely wedding uniting Irene Ciokiewicz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Ciokiewicz, city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), and Wilbur J. Dulek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Dulek, Thorp, in marriage.  Father Crubel officiated at the 9 a.m. nuptial mass.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a colonial type gown having an imported lace bodice coming to points on the upper extremity of the skirt with illusion netting on top of the blouse.  The gown had a cathedral train of white satin and an illusion veil with a tiara type headdress of seed pearls and rhinestones.  She carried an arm bouquet of red and white roses, and white carnations with white satin streamers.

The bride’s sister, Dorothy, served as maid of honor.  She wore a spring green ballerina style strapless gown with a cape of netting.  Bridesmaids were Rosella Dulek and Babara Allen.  Miss Dulek’s gown was ballerina style of shrimp color while that of Miss Allen’s was identical in design but powder blue in color.  They carried colonial style bouquets of tea roses, white mums and carnations.

Marie Ciokiewicz and Darrell Kelly, niece of the bride, served as flower girls.  They wore gowns of yellow taffeta with tiers of net.

The bridegroom and his attendants, Ronald Dulek, as best man and groomsmen, Jay Glasshoff and Alfred Ciokiewicz wore midnight blue tuxedos with white bow ties and white carnation boutonnieres.

During the sacred ceremony, Mrs. James Gummerson sang "Ave Maria" and "On This Day Oh Beautiful Mother."

The church parlors were appropriately and beautifully decorated with poinsettia plants, fir boughs and other seasonal decorations, as here a breakfast and wedding dinner were handled by Mr. Walter Kelley, famed chef of the beautiful Oaks Nite Club near Winona, who is an uncle to the bride.

The next day the newlyweds left for their home in Memphis, Tenn., where Mr. Dulek is in the service of the United States Navy and his bride is employed as a secretary in a furniture plant.

Among the guests here for the celebrated occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kelly and family, Miss Helen Fialkowski, Mrs. Johanna Fialkowski, Winona, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Fialkowski, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Leland Loiselle, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. John Dulek, Raymond Mendshelski, Mary Ann Gruber and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schmidt, Thorp.
