Elton F. Kallien, the only child of Mr.
and Mrs. A. C. Kallien, Milan, was born July 28, 1928, at
Marshfield. Until six years ago, the family lived on a farm near
Milan and then moved to the village. Elton attended the Dixon
school and then the Abbotsford high school, from where he was
graduated in 1946. While attending high school, he took part in
music and athletics and distinguished himself in
baseball.
He recently graduated from River Falls
State College and was to have started teaching in a rural school
near New Richmond on Monday. During the past summer he was employed
on a highway project and had planned to spend this week end at his
home.
He is survived by his parents.
