Gibson, Rene (20 Nov. 1900 - 4 Oct.
1952)
Rene Gibson, 51, son of Mrs. L. J.
Gibson, died unexpectedly of a heart attack Saturday morning while
he was raking leaves in his yard at Eau Claire. Funeral services
were held at the Lutheran church there Tuesday afternoon and burial
was made in Eau Claire.
Rene Gibson was born in Chili Nov. 20,
1900. The family moved to Abbotsford in the spring of 1920. He was
employed by the Bell Telephone Company and last spring observed 25
years of service with that company.
For a time after his marriage they lived
in Milwaukee and for the past 16 years at Eau Claire.
He is survived by his widow at Eau
Claire, one son, Dennis, of Wisconsin Rapids, and a daughter, Mrs.
Martin (Dorothy) Bets, Wausau, and two grand daughters.
He also leaves his mother, Mrs. L. J.
Gibson, of Abbotsford. His father, Tom Gibson, preceded him in
death. There are two brothers, Floyd, Merrill, and Roy, of
Milwaukee, all of whom attended the funeral.
Those from Abbotsford who were at the funeral were Mmes. John Hutt, Bernard Laabs, Wilbur Kuehnast, Walter Fults, Lawrence Neitzel, and
Herman Waldhart.
