Tessmer, Charles P. (26 Oct. 1870 - 21
Feb. 1953)
Charles P. Tessmer, of Colby, a railroad
foreman, died at the Marshfield hospital, Saturday, Feb. 21, at the
age of 82 years, after an illness of two years. Funeral services
were held Tuesday afternoon at the Lulloff Funeral Home, with the
Rev. Richard Harrison, Abbotsford, officiating. Internment was made
in the Colby cemetery.
Grandsons, Floyd, Darrell, Claude and
Herman Sossaman, Milwaukee; Ralph Sossaman, Colby; and Douglas
Sossaman, of Korea, with Junior Tessmer as stand up for the latter,
acted as pallbearers. Flowers were in charge of grand daughters,
Shelby and Judy Passehl and Dixie, Marcia, Ruby, Beverly and Bonnie
Sossaman.
Mr. Tessmer was born in Lomira on Oct.
26, 1870, and came to Colby with his parents when a small child. He
married Pauline Hecker in Colby on Nov. 25, 1893.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Axel (Helen) Anderson, of Montebello, Calif.; Mrs. Wallace (Florence) Sossaman, Colby; and Mrs. Ernest (June) Passehl, Stratford; 14 grand children, nine great grand children, one brother, Herman J. Tessmer, Colby; one sister, Mrs. Otto Detjens, Phillips. One son died in infancy.
